First post, and two sentence stories

Hi!  This is the first post on Eccentric Endeavors, a blog of interesting ideas in fiction, nonfiction, and historical writing.  I'm trying to work on all three areas of my writing, and would like some people to bounce ideas off.

I've always liked interesting writing excercises to make me think outside the box.  From time to time, I'll post my attempts and I'd love it if readers posted their attempt as well!  In the spirit of various "your life in a Tweet" contests going on over the internet, today's challenge is to write a story, or a significant part of a story, in 140 characters or less.  Here are some of my attempts, in different genres and styles!

Sci-fi
It had died for us, or maybe it died for itself? After two months and the end of our lab, it was finally clear: we could never know whether or not a robot could truly love.

Thriller
Mary, middle class non-nonsense mother of two, saved her husband from a plot stemming from a mafia deal he made to save his black sheep brother.

Coming-of-age
The only thing I can say about my last year at high school is that it was absolutely awkward, difficult, frightening and painful. And sometimes I miss it.

Shakespeare Comedy (in five acts!)
In Italy, the Lord courts a Lady, but is betrayed by the Lord’s brother. The Lady cries. They love each other, but can’t communicate. Fate prevails, and they marry.

Shakespeare Tragedy
In Northern Europe, the Lord covets a Lady and is angsty, but betrays his brother and is victorious. The Lady and Lord are happy, but afraid. Fate prevails, and there’s a funeral.

Post any feedback or your own attempts!
